For the treatment of fine lines, uneven skin texture, acne scars and enlarged pores – building on the skin’s own regenerative abilities
SkinPen® is a professional medical microneedling treatment that creates controlled microchannels in the skin, thereby activating its natural regenerative processes and stimulating the formation of new collagen and elastin fibres. The skin’s structure is gradually renewed, and its texture may become more even, whilst its surface may become smoother and firmer.
The SkinPen® is the first micro-needling device approved by the US FDA for the treatment of acne scars on the face. During the treatment, we use a sterile, single-use treatment head, and I adjust the needle depth to suit the area being treated, the condition of the skin and the desired outcome.
Treatment most commonly involves face, neck and décolletage It can be used on this area, but in the case of scars, it can also be carried out on other parts of the body.
After cleansing the area to be treated, I apply an anaesthetic cream, then treat the entire skin surface using the SkinPen® device. I always adjust the needle depth on a case-by-case basis, depending on the specific area and skin condition.
A facial treatment usually lasts 30 minutes.
Following the treatment, the skin may feel warm and flushed, but this usually subsides within 24–48 hours. Mild dryness or slight flaking may occur over the following few days.
The number of treatments required depends on the condition of the skin and the problem being treated.
The SkinPen® can be used either as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other skin rejuvenation procedures, such as BBL®, SkinTyte II® or ClearSilk®.
The results develop gradually, as collagen formation and structural remodelling of the skin can continue for months after the treatments.
