Antiperspirant treatment using botulinum toxin injections

For a long-lasting reduction in excessive underarm sweating

Excessive underarm sweating can significantly affect your day-to-day comfort, your choice of clothing and your self-confidence. It can be particularly troublesome if sweating occurs regardless of temperature or physical activity, and traditional antiperspirants do not provide adequate relief.

Botulinum toxin treatment temporarily blocks the nerve impulses that stimulate the sweat glands, thereby significantly reduces sweating in the treated area.

The treatment does not block the sweat glands’ ducts, nor does it interfere with the body’s natural temperature regulation. Minimal sweating may still occur in the treated area.

Information about the treatment

The treatment may offer a solution primarily for those who,
- those who experience excessive underarm sweating,
- for whom conventional antiperspirants do not provide satisfactory results,
- people for whom sweating regularly causes discomfort when getting dressed, at work or in social situations.

After disinfecting the skin in the armpit, I administer the botulinum toxin superficially into the treatment area at several small points using a very fine needle. The procedure is quick, usually taking 15 minutes. The injections may cause a brief, mild stinging or pricking sensation.

A reduction in sweating is usually noticeable within a few days of treatment, with the full effect developing over approximately 1–2 weeks. The duration of the effect varies from person to person, usually lasting between 5 and 12 months, after which the function of the sweat glands gradually returns to normal. Once the effect has worn off, the treatment can be repeated.

During the first 24 hours, avoid strenuous physical activity and vigorous rubbing or massaging of the treated area. For two weeks following the treatment, you should avoid saunas, solariums and other activities involving significant exposure to heat.
